Forty-five minutes from Marrakech, the Atlas foothills hold clusters of stone houses built into the hillside over generations. Terraced gardens, walnut trees, a spring. These maisons berbères are private residences — the owners step back, the Long Table steps in, and a single group occupies the entire property for the evening.
The setting has a particular gravity. The architecture is entirely local: hand-cut stone, flat earthen roofs, doorways worn smooth. Dinner is set on the terraces as the sun falls behind the ridgeline. Mint tea, Gnaoua percussion, a sky that fills without effort.
