Questions about private events
in the Agafay desert
The Long Table composes fully private events for 30 to 300 guests on its site in the Agafay desert, 40 minutes from Marrakech: one group per evening or per day, with transfers, teams, catering, scenography with designers and guest chefs, shows and activities gathered in one proposal. The answers below cover the site and access, group sizes, what is included, weddings, companies and brands, and the organisation, with one contact and a written proposal within 24 hours.

The site and access
Where is The Long Table site?
On a fully private site in the Agafay desert, 40 minutes from Marrakech. The plateau, its tables, lounges, fire pits and kitchens are reserved for your group alone, with no other guest on site. The final stretch is reached along a desert track, so arrivals are made by 4x4 as part of the transfers we organise.
How do guests get to the site?
Transfers are part of the proposal. Departures are coordinated with your hotels or a meeting point in Marrakech, the journey takes about 40 minutes, and the last section follows a track crossed by 4x4. After the evening, the same team runs the return to Marrakech. No guest has to find the way alone.
How long is the flight to Marrakech?
Marrakech is about 3 h 30 from London, 3 h from Paris, Geneva and Zurich, and under 2 h from Madrid. From New York, count around 9 h. From other cities, guests usually travel via the European or Gulf hubs. Transfers from Marrakech to the site are then organised by us.
Will other groups be on site?
No. One group per evening or per day, from the first arrival to the last departure. The site, the teams and the whole programme belong to your group alone. Access is controlled: no one enters who is not expected, and the team is briefed on your guest list before the evening begins.
Can we visit the site before deciding?
Yes, on request. We walk the plateau with you or your planner to place the tables, the stage and the sequence of the evening. For clients who cannot travel beforehand, the written proposal describes the layout and the programme in detail, and your single point of contact answers every question before the visit or instead of it.
What does the site look like?
A plateau of stone and sand opening onto the Agafay desert, with the Atlas mountains on the horizon and an unobstructed sky at night. There is no permanent decoration: the layout, lighting and scenography are composed for each dossier, from a single long table under the stars to several tables, a stage and a dance floor.
02
Group sizes and formats
How many guests can the Agafay site host?
The core formats welcome from 30 to 300 guests, up to 300 seated at dinner. Smaller groups and larger events are possible on request: tell us the expected number in the brief and the proposal is drawn for it. Whatever the size, the site remains fully private for your group.
Can we come with a smaller group?
Yes, on request. Below 30 guests the evening is composed around one long table, with the same private site, the same transfers and the same team. Tell us the number of guests and the occasion in the brief; the proposal describes what the evening looks like at that scale.
What about more than 300 guests?
Larger events are studied on request. Beyond 300 seated, the layout changes: several zones across the plateau, standing or mixed formats, a stage and a longer programme. Send the expected number and the type of event through the request page and we tell you within 24 hours how it can be composed.
Which occasions can you organise?
Weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, proposals, seminars, incentives, team building, client dinners, galas, brand dinners, launches and content production. There is no minimum occasion: tell us what you are celebrating or presenting, and the evening or the day is composed around it with the designers, chefs, shows and activities it calls for.
Do you host day events, or only evenings?
Both. The site is privatised for one group per evening or per day. Daytime formats include seminars, workshops, brunches, shoots and team activities, with lunch on the plateau. Evening formats open at the golden hour and continue with dinner, show and dancing or stargazing. A day can also lead into an evening for the same group.
One long table or several?
At 30 guests, one long table under the stars. At 300, several tables, a stage and a dance floor. Every layout in between is drawn for your group: round or long tables, lounges around the fire pits, a ceremony area or a stage. The layout is part of the written proposal.
03
What is included and what is composed
What do you take care of?
Transfers, teams, catering, scenography with designers and guest chefs, shows and activities. Everything is gathered in one proposal and run by one team on the day. One contact follows you from the brief to the evening, so you never have to coordinate several suppliers yourself.
What is included in a Long Table evening?
Return transfers from Marrakech, the privatised site, décor and lighting, a long-table dinner cooked on site, live music including the Gnaoua musicians who open our evenings, activities composed for your group and a dedicated team. Shows, guest chefs and designers are added according to the dossier. Everything appears in one written proposal.
Are the chefs and designers imposed?
No. Designers and guest chefs are selected for each dossier according to the project, the number of guests and the style of the evening. No house style is imposed, and no names are promised before the proposal. You may also bring a chef, a designer or a creative team you already trust; we work alongside them.
Which shows and activities can be composed?
Live music, performances, fire, dance, mapping or projection on the desert itself, written for the evening. Before dinner, a camel ride at the golden hour, a guided walk across the plateau, a pottery workshop with Moroccan artisans, a campfire or stargazing. Each is chosen with you and sized for your group.
Can the menu accommodate dietary requirements?
Yes. Menus are written for your group, with Moroccan and international cuisine cooked on site. Vegetarian, vegan, halal, gluten-free and other requirements are taken into account when they are communicated at the time of the brief or the guest list. The chef adapts the menu rather than serving a separate plate.
Can we bring our own supplier or creative team?
Yes. A photographer, a florist, a band, a chef or a designer you already work with can join the team. We share the layout and the sequence of the evening with them in advance, and your single point of contact coordinates their arrival, their set-up and their place in the programme.
04
Weddings and celebrations
Can we hold the ceremony on the site?
Yes. The ceremony, the dinner, the show and the dancing can all take place on the same private plateau, with one group per evening. The ceremony area is placed with you during the site visit or in the proposal, usually facing the desert at the golden hour, before guests move to the table.
Do you work with wedding planners?
Yes. Many weddings reach us through a wedding planner or an agency, and we work alongside them. The planner keeps the relationship with the couple; we provide the private site, the transfers, the teams, the catering, the scenography and the programme, with one contact for the planner from the brief to the evening.
Can a wedding span several days?
Tell us in the brief. The site is privatised for one group per day or per evening, so a welcome dinner, the ceremony and a day after can be studied as a sequence for the same group. The proposal describes each day separately, with its own layout, programme and transfers.
How are the timings of the evening set?
The evening opens at the golden hour and continues with dinner, show and dancing or stargazing, followed by the transfers back to Marrakech. Timings are agreed with you from the brief, according to the occasion, the number of guests and the programme, and written into the proposal.
Are birthdays and anniversaries composed the same way?
Yes. A milestone birthday, a wedding anniversary or a family reunion is composed around one person or one family: the layout, the menu, the music and the surprise, if there is one. From 30 to 300 guests, the whole site is yours for the evening, and the team knows the guest list before the first arrival.
Are children welcome?
Yes. Families are frequent at weddings and celebrations. The programme can include activities for children before dinner, a dedicated table or a quieter lounge, and the transfers are planned with the families in mind. Tell us the ages in the brief so the team can prepare the evening accordingly.
05
Companies, incentives and brands
Can The Long Table be customised for companies?
Yes. Seminars, incentives, team building, client dinners, partner evenings and end-of-year parties, with private branding, custom menus and dedicated hosting. A seminar can take place on the plateau by day and continue with a private evening. One contact follows the company or the agency from the brief to the event.
How does an incentive or reward evening work?
The team leaves Marrakech in the late afternoon, arrives at the golden hour and discovers the private site: an activity across the plateau, a long-table dinner, live music, a show and the stars, then the return. Everything is composed for the group and run by one team, so the organiser is a guest too.
Is the Agafay desert used for brand events?
Yes. The Agafay desert has hosted the Saint Laurent, Guess and Giorgio Armani × Kith shows. On our own site, brand dinners, launches, showcases and content production are composed with designers and guest chefs, with one group per evening and controlled access, so the brand is the only presence on the plateau.
Can a brand use the site for content production?
Yes. The site can be privatised by the day for shoots, films and content production, with the desert and the Atlas as the only backdrop. Transfers, teams, catering and scenography are organised around the production schedule. Tell us the format and the crew size in the brief.
Can the site carry our branding?
Yes. Scenography, lighting, table design and signage can be composed around a brand identity, from a discreet presence to a complete set across the plateau. Designers are invited for each dossier, and the proposal shows how the branding is integrated into the site and the programme.
Do you work with agencies, DMCs and event planners?
Yes. Agencies, DMCs and event planners bring us many dossiers, and we work alongside them. They keep the relationship with their client; we provide the private site, the transfers, the teams, the catering, the scenography, the shows and the activities, with one contact and a written proposal within 24 hours.
06
Organisation, lead times and season
How quickly do we receive a proposal?
Within 24 hours of the brief. Send a date, the number of guests and the occasion through the request page or to table@thelongtablemarrakech.com. The proposal is written: layout, designers and chefs envisaged, shows, activities, timing and transfers. On request, we then organise a visit of the site.
When can we book?
Reservations resume from mid-December 2026. Dates from then on can be requested now, and a written proposal follows within 24 hours. For a wedding or a large corporate event, sending the brief early secures the date, since one group only is received per evening or per day.
What is the best season for an event in Agafay?
The winter is mild, with cool evenings around the fire pits. Spring and autumn are pleasant by day and by night. Summer is hot, so events are composed as evenings, opening at the golden hour. The scenography, the programme and the timings are adapted to the season in the proposal.
What about Ramadan and public holidays?
Tell us the dates in the brief. Ramadan and Moroccan or international holidays are integrated from the first exchange, so the programme, the timings, the teams and the transfers are composed with them in mind. The site remains private for your group, and the proposal states what is adapted.
Who is our contact?
One person follows your dossier from the brief to the evening: the proposal, the site visit, the composition with designers, chefs and performers, the guest list and the transfers. You reach them through the request page or table@thelongtablemarrakech.com, and the same team runs the event on the day.
How does the evening unfold?
Transfers from Marrakech, arrival at the golden hour, an activity or welcome drinks across the plateau, dinner at the long table, the show, then dancing or stargazing, and the departures run by the same team. The sequence is written with you from the brief and held to the minute on the evening.
A question we have not answered?
Send a date, a number of guests and the occasion. One contact answers, with a written proposal within 24 hours.
